Comic-Con for a Cause

The Teen Advisory Board of McLane Children’s was given a unique opportunity August 5th & 6th when they were offered a complementary booth by the generous organizer of the Bell County Comic-Con, Johnny Huang. The Teenagers also received support from local General Manager, Daniel Mueller of Spare Time bowling who donated a large game and cards containing spare time credit for the event.

The teens wasted no time talking to each person about their love for McLane Children’s Medical Center and about joining their fundraising team. The teens met the co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman among other celebrities. The Teen Advisory Board raised a total of $545.50 through donations and a charity auction (organized by Johnny Huang and his team with items donated from many local artists and celebrities).

We are so thankful for the enormous amount of community support. Thank you to everyone who talked to our teenagers, donated to them, or contributed in anyway to this fantastic event.

The Teen Advisory Board team is now 83 members strong… and counting…
