Not Forgotten

Since 2016 the Teen Advisory Board has raised over $35,000.00 to benefit McLane Children’s Medical Center. This motivated group of teenage patients is known for their drive, commitment to excellence, and most of all their heart for others. Today we want to honor four of these special teens who have lost their medical battles. Christien, Jonathan, Ileana & Armani were all exceptional. This group began with a mission to inspire others and make a difference in the lives of children just like themselves, they have certainly succeeded. Because of this group, many have followed their example and are now giving back in their honor.

We have had several committing to carry on their legacy by joining Extra Life and continuing to raise funds to help make sick and injured kids feel better. As a tribute to their journey, a place of reflection is now located in front of the playground at McLane Children’s. A bench, a willow tree, and an angel statue. Christien once suggested that we should have a special place for children & parents to simply sit, cry, and reflect. This space has been just that. As we remember these amazing patients, we think about the good stuff. The stories, the laughter and most of all – the heart. Thank you for supporting our amazing teens.
